Volkswagen is gearing up to introduce the Volkswagen Jetta Sportswagen TDI in 2008--a turbodiesel that burns clean enough to pass strict emissions regulations in CA and the New England states. VW wanted to debut the car at the SEMA Show this past November and asked blik to dress it up for the occasion.
SEMA is the authoritative source for research, data, trends and market growth information for the specialty auto parts industry, so we knew this was big coming out party. Needless to say, we were pumped to do the job. Thanks, VW!
We had such a good time, the experience has inspired us to ramp up our own Autographic designs in the very near future. So keep your eyes peeled.

blik makes the cut with parents

We don't mean to brag, but.....we are jumping for joy that Parents Magazine has stuffed their coveted Goody Bag: "must see, must do, must have this month" with blik Giant Robot Re-Stik decals (see December issue). And, if we're being honest, we happen to agree that GR Re-Stik is a hip holiday, birthday, or any day gift for your kids or the kid in you.

Have you guys heard about Ashley Qualls, the 17-year-old design fan who started whateverlife.com with a measly $8 when she was just 14? Now, her hobby has grown into a million dollar business. Rock on, Ashley. And it looks like she's a big fan of blik too--can you spot how many designs she has in her house? (Yes, we said house). We counted 4: Teen Millionaire

CSULB bliks computer labs

California State University at Long Beach wanted to revamp their drab computer lab and lounge. So Culver City-based design firm, DLFStudio, thought a little blik would do the trick. It's amazing what a splash of paint and custom colored blik Baby dots can bring to a space. Reports from the trenches? The students feel more energized as they slave away...Thanks, CSULB!

urban camo

Remember one of your favorite childhood games--Highlights Magazine Hidden Picture? It was the perfect way to ease your mind as you anxiously awaited the doctor. Well, can you spot the fake vending machine in this picture? This time, it's not a game. Despite having a violent crime rate that is a mere 1/7 of America's, the Japanese are very anxious...So, 29-year-old experimental fashion designer, Aya Tsukioka, has started a new clothing line geared toward eluding potential thieves and predators. There is even a "manhole bag", a purse that looks like a manhole cover when unfolded. Simply hide your valuables inside and toss the bag on the street; unwitting thieves should walk right by. We found all the designs amusing if not ingenious.
